History Of Celestron Telescopes
Today there are a number of telescope manufacturers. Some of these companies produce telescopes which are anything but good, and others manufacture top quality telescopes that even Galileo and Newton would have loved to get there hands on! Celestron telescopes are such a telescope manufacturer.
When you go to a toy store and see a telescope, it only takes getting that telescope home, to see that the telescope is more disposable than a long term scientific instrument! Unfortunately many telescopes that are readily available fall short of expectations.
A lot of the big telescope companies producing top quality telescopes for sale have started by being faced with the same problem. Celestron telescopes were started in 1960 in southern California by the founder Tom Johnson, who was not happy with the telescopes available on the market for his sons. In the end he decided to build them one by himself!
